in class writing 1

A negative effect when I read is when I read a persuasive paper I do not question the writer. I think everything he is saying is true and non-biased. When it comes to discussions in class about what we read I am horrible when it comes to critical thinking. Sometimes it annoys me because I want to get involved in discussions but it never works out well for me. I have noticed this habit of mine and tried to be better at fixing the problem. So far it has not worked out so well.

When it comes to writing such as a persuasive paper, I am not so good at it. I do lots of research, but I never come up with my own ideas. I mainly just take other peoples opinions and re-word them in my own. Then when I read and write persuasive papers, I question my own topic from the research I have done. In my mind I try to see things from both views of a topic and I try to show both sides of a topic when trying to convince someone to my thoughts. Once I do that I get off topic and it becomes less of a persuasive paper and more of an informative paper. It can be a negative and positive effect because it broadens my perspective on things but then again it translates into my persuasive papers.
