In class writing 1

Throughout the years I have had many encounters with reading and writing.  Not all experiences have been good, but not all experiences have been bad.  I am not a huge fan of reading, so finding a book that I actually like is very rare.  A good reading experience that I had would be in 8th grade when I read I Am Third by Gale Sayers.  Gale Sayers was one of the greatest Chicago Bears football players ever and wrote this book once he retired.  The concept of the book was that he was third, meaning god and his family came before himself.  It was a good experience for me reading that book because it had a really good message and was written by a someone I had heard a lot about.

I good writing experience I have had would have to be when I wrote a speech in 5th grade for the dare drug program.  I had to write a paper/speech about what the class taught me and why drugs and alcohol were bad.  I spent a lot of time working on my paper and ended up winning the contest for greatest speech.  This writing experience was good for me because it gave me confidence in my writing ability and encouraged me to continue writing in the future.
