-What: 1992- It is a magazine advertisement of Camel cigarettes promoting there new Camel Lights. It is using there mascot who is driving a red convertible corvette with sunglasses. It is trying to give people the idea that smoking cigarettes is cool. Also the camel in the leather jacket in the passenger seat is turned around shoving the pack of cigarettes in your face with one popped out of the pack, so it looks like he is offering you one. It contains ethos,
1971: Its a magazine ad for Camels new product line of cigarettes. It has a very popular band during the 70’s era smoking Camel Filters and it states, “At their last performance, The Electric Plums lit up the latest thing in super mod Cigarettes. Now everybody will be smoking super mod cigarettes.” Its an ad that is drawing in people to smoke the new and cool brand of cigarettes. Basically using celebrities to endorse their new product, so it will attract more and new customers. On the other half of the page it has another person smoking Camels original brand of cigarettes saying that Camel filters may not for everybody. So in the ad it is promoting camels new and old cigarettes. This had contains ethos and pathos.
-Who: The rock band The Electric Plums in the 70’s. And the other ad has Camels mascot a Camel who looks cool and hip.
-When: The Electric Plum ad is from the 70’s and the other ad is from the 90’s
-Where:The Electric Plum ad does not have a location but it states that they lit up the latest product in Camel cigarettes on their last performance. The other ad has the camel driving a convertible car on the open road.
-How: 1971 ad shows how in early advertisements Camel cigarettes tried to persuade people to smoke cigarettes by using celebrities to endorse their products.
The 1992 ad shows the cigarette company using their mascot to help advertise their product to customers. They dress the camel to make him seem “cool” so they can draw in younger customers. Also in the ad the camel is turned around and looks like he his handing you a cigarette so you can try it.
